MISSION STATEMENT: Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey (CVCJ) is dedicated to providing vital, free assistance to the elderly, veterans, those with dementia, and Caregivers to enable them to remain independent in their own homes and live their lives with dignity and joy. This is achieved through a network of more than 1000 volunteers, 70 interfaith partners, and a variety of services..

THE PROJECT:
Alzheimer’s Respite Care Program (ARCP) with Connections Thru Music (CTM): Transforming Lives from Isolation to Hope. This project is transforming the lives of Caregivers, their loved ones with dementia, as well as the volunteers, mentors, and youth who support them in Monmouth County. The Alzheimer’s Respite Care Program (ARCP) provides a weekly 3-hour visit by a specially trained and individually matched volunteer, allowing the overwhelmed Caregiver the opportunity to “take a break” from the daily challenges of life. Connections Thru Music (CTM) is an extension of ARCP. This intergenerational music program connects students to elders with dementia, using the power of music to inspire, empower and increase empathy. These services are provided free of charge with no income restrictions.
