CONTACT OF OCEAN & MONMOUTH COUNTIES

CONTACT of Ocean & Monmouth Counties, a non-profit, charitable organization, provides trained telephone listeners who respond to human needs 24 hours every day. This volunteer-based organization offers free confidential crisis intervention, information on available resources, and referral to community services. CONTACT of Ocean & Monmouth Counties opened its phone lines on December 1, 1975. It was one of the first crisis intervention hotlines in the state, founded by a small group of volunteers who were determined to help prevent suicide in their community. By 2000, CONTACT grew to become the 3rd largest crisis call center in the country.
Today, we average 25,000 calls annually.

Family Promise of Monmouth County

The mission of Family Promise of Monmouth County is to provide food, clothing, shelter, and comprehensive services to homeless children and families in Monmouth County while advocating innovative solutions to end chronic homelessness.  Emergency shelter and warm hospitality are the foundation of the Family Promise model that nationwide, serves 126,000 children and parents and engages 200,000 volunteers a year. Green Team Volunteers: Sustainable Jersey’s greatest resource is our army of green team volunteers in 470 municipalities throughout New Jersey. We would like to connect Impact 100’s members to their local green team and encourage them to join, donate, or volunteer some time to one of their impactful projects and initiatives.

Major Donor Cultivation: Most of Sustainable Jersey’s revenue comes from federal and/or state funding, private and/or corporate foundation grants, and corporate sponsorships. Individual donors are an as-of-yet untapped additional revenue stream. We are looking to identify, meet, and cultivate major individual donors in the Monmouth County area that are passionate about the environment, climate change, and local sustainability and would consider becoming Founding Individual Donors to a potential Sustainable Jersey Major Giving Circle.

We feel that Impact 100 Jersey Coast’s members represent some of New Jersey’s most generous philanthropists who are community stakeholders in a county and region that will be acutely impacted by addressing climate change at the local level – thus they would be most apt to support Sustainable Jersey’s mission. We would love to connect with I100JC’s members either one-on-one or via a donor cultivation event in Monmouth County.

New Board Member Identification: As Sustainable Jersey continues to make its board and staff more diverse and inclusive, we are continuously searching for qualified candidates for our Board of Trustees.
